Welcome 25/26

 Assalamu-alaikum wa rahmatulahi wa barakatuh

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

Hello and welcome to the first blog post of the 25/26 academic year!!!

This article provides a brief overview of the blog, what to expect, and how you can ensure you are always up to date.

The IMed Blog was set up in 2025, and has since become a place where muslim students can volunteer to put their writing skills to use, create articles and share reflections. We are now currently in the blog's second (academic) year of existence!!

This year, we will be focusing on 5 categories:

  1. Al'ilm Noor: Knowledge is Light

Your go-to stop for anything knowledge based. Revision tips, exam skills and more!

  1. Our Community: IMed Events & Socials

Want to know what the IMed society is up to? This is the section to keep track of for news on past events and promotion of upcoming ones!

  1. Widening Participation

Articles tailored to helping widen access to healthcare degrees for underrepresented groups.

  1. IMed Minds

Where mental health and spirituality intersect. Concurrent with the IMed Minds rep posts.

  1. Our Role Models

A brand new addition to our blog roster! Every month we will be highlighting some influential Muslim figures in the field of medicine/health sciences- both historical and contemporary. A chance to learn more about the intersection between islam and healthcare, and how we can aspire to be the role models of the future.

Blog posts will be released on the first Monday of every month inshallah. This is with the exception of this month (as I was still recruiting your lovely and talented writers team) and exam months (January and May/June).

To always be up to date, sign up to this form if you'd like to be sent blog updates DIRECTLY to your inbox :)
